BnW GDT card

Good afternoon everyone, well another new week already, where have the months gone? at least we have been promised some nice weather for the next few days.

I won a GDT spot a couple of weeks ago over at BnW and I was absolutely thrilled to bits. Here's the card I made for the challenge, which is to use your fave colour or colours. So I chose pink & kraft (is kraft a colour?) I really love putting pastels onto kraft card, it really stands out.

I used: BnW Little Friend
Spectrum Noirs & Derwent pencils
Dienamics & Marrianne D dies
Whimsey stamp & die
BG papers
Gingham ribbon

I'm entering it into: Die Cut Dreams pink, brown & cream

Remember me telling you about the yo-yo yesterday, well Bradley was'nt that impressed using it as a yo-yo and dragged it behind him as his doggy. We even had to wait whilst 'he' ( the yo-yo ) had a wee before he got in the car. Kids eh?

Hope you all have a good afternoon, will catch you later.

Candy Winner & HUGE thanks

Good afternoon to all you lovely blog folk. Hope you are all well. It's time to tell you who has won my birthday candy but before I do I would like to say a HUGE Thank You for all the lovely messages about my daughter Sam. You are all so thoughtful and all of your messages really touched my heart. It did turn out to be Bells Paulsy and she has to take steroids for the next 3 months. She still is'nt herself, bless her but she is so much better than the begining of the week. Remember when the kids were little and a Mummy kiss & cuddle would make the boo boo's better. If only I could still do that, I felt helpless.

I had a really lovely birthday, I got some scrummy crafty goodies and lots of other gorgeous things. I felt so lucky. My very lovely and talented SS&S teamie Claire sent me the most gorgeous card, Thank You Hun I love it and it will take pride of place on my craftroom window.

Any hoo! back to my birthday candy...

The winner is...............

Melsanford

Congratulations Mel, could you email me so I can get your candy in the post for you.

My Little Claire's tutorial & some news

Hi folks, hope you are all well, just a quickie from me, as we've had a right couple of days.

Our daughter Sam is in hospital, her mouth and eye have drooped( for want of a better word) she frightened the life out of me & her Dad as she looks like she's had a stroke. She went to the doc's who sent her to hospital. They think it might be Bells Paulsy ( probably  not spelled correctly) but they're waiting for some results before they know what's what. She's had an MRI scan & a lumber punture. So we have Bradley, stopping with us, bless him, he thinks his Mummy has earache. So HUGE apologies from me if I'm not around much.

Before I go I have a little treat bag to show you. It's my turn over at Little Claires to do the weekly tutorial. We are all really enjoying doing the tutorials, hope you are enjoying them too.

There is a step by step and measurements over at Little Claire's so I hope you will have a look.
Also there's another fab Tuesday bargain over there, containing lots of goodies, including a really gorgeous stamp.

Good evening folks, hope you're all happy and well. Weather's been much better today, can't get over the wind yesterday, it blew over our garden furniture and broke our lovely wooden umbrella's. :o(  I know, it's nothing compared to the damage that some have had, but I was really fed up when I saw them.

Snow Buddies

Good afternoon folks, hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend. Not sure where it's gone though, as usual it's gone far too quick.

I've been meaning to tell you about the abandoned cat near my Daughter Sam's house. Well the RSPCA seemed to have gotten fed up of trying to catch her and left the cage for Sam to have a go. The cat was not having any of it, so Sam and her elderly neighbour Colin have been feeding her. Sam made her a bed in her bin area and she has been ok. Well, as Colin has a bit more time, as Sam works, he has been making friends with the cat and he eventually managed to pick her up and take her to the PDSA, (well done Colin!)  so hopefully she is now being well looked after and hopefully re-homed. Both me and Sam would have loved to adopt her but we both have two cats, who would not have been happy about a newbie coming in. I'm really chuffed that she won't be spending the upcoming cold days outdoors, bless her.

Anyhoo! here's my card I've been making today.

I used: freebie Humphrey stamp from a mag
BG papers
Whimsey, Spellbinders & Marrianne D dies
Whimsey postage stamp

I'm going to enter it into: Sketch Saturday fab sketch

Right I must dash as I'm cooking a Sunday roast for tea & lemon meringue for pud. Yummy!

Will catch you all later.

Birthday Candy

Hi folks......

I have a birthday coming up soon and my family know that I'm not really fussed about flowers, I much prefer them in the garden and of course the pretty paper ones to stick on cards.

So..... I thought I would have a little birthday candy with some flowers and a couple of other things. Some scrim, ribbon and a couple of pots of glitter.

All you need to do is leave a comment on this post, you don't need to be a follower or put a piccie on your blog, although if you would like to, that would be fab. :o)

The candy will close at midnight on the 23rd September ( my Bday) and I will get Bradley to choose a name out of the 'hat' (probably his Fireman Sam helmet) the day after and I will post the winner then.

Good Luck.

Driving home for Christmas

Good evening folks, hope you are all ok. My first day back at work today and I feel a bit tired, I'd got used to being a bit lazy over the hols, busy doing nothing. :o)  We did some training today, which I really enjoyed and tomorrow the kitchen is getting a good old blitzing ready for cooking the dinners next week when the kids start back.

As it's the first of the month it's time for the Little Claire club stamp set, 'Delivering Christmas Wishes' and I must say I LOVE IT!

Included in the set are a gorgeous Morris Minor, a proper postbox, some cute little robins and 2 sentiments.

All the deets are Here and whilst your over there have a little peek in the gallery, my lovely teamies have made some gorgeous cards with it.

My lovely blog buddy Kerryn has given me a lovely award. Thank you hun, it really means a lot. :o)

I made top 3 over at Crafters Companion today too, Thank You ladies, I'm really chuffed to bits.

So it's been a lovely day today over here at My Happy Place.

Hope you all have a fab evening, I'm off for a lil' nosey round blogtown and watch Torchwood. :o)
